Serra USA began in Seattle in 1935 by a small group of lay Catholics who recognized the need to support and foster vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
Our Bismarck-Mandan Chapter of Serra was started at the prompting of Bishop Hacker who saw a need for Serra to be active in the Diocese. Bob Rausch and Bob Woodmansee served as co-chairs for the club in formation and within a year and a half they had the required 25 members to be instated as an official chapter of Serra USA on January 5, 1964.
Our club ranks as one of the largest clubs in the United States.
